Richard Weidlich
Instructor

Richard Weidlich, baritone, has performed in opera, operetta, and musical theatre, as well as with symphonies and chamber ensembles. Dr. Weidlich is a professor at Sacred Heart University in Fairfield, teaching music classes and individual voice lessons. Richard has had the pleasure of performing in Cinderella as the King and in The Sound of Music as Max Dettweiler with Melody Libonati and the Summer Theatre of New Canaan. Other favorite roles include Matt in The Fantasticks , Antipholus of Syracuse in The Boys from Syracuse , KoKo in The Mikado . Opera and operetta roles include Figaro in The Barber of Seville , Schaunard in La Bohème , Mercutio in Roméo et Juliette , and Danilo in The Merry Widow , among others. Orchestral solo appearances include St. Louis Symphony, Buffalo Philharmonic, Seattle Symphony, Oregon Symphony, Tucson Symphony, and others. Dr. Weidlich is Vice President of the Connecticut Chapter of the National Association of Teachers of Singing.
