One of the most gifted and distinguished artists on the stage today, Amanda Nisenson is rapidly establishing herself as a Mezzo-Soprano in great demand. Amanda has performed numerous lead roles in operas such as Carmen, Rigoletto, The Rape of Lucretia, and Faust. Her operatic training began in high school at the Juilliard Prepatory division in New York, NY. Amanda went on to receive her Bachelors degree in Musical Performance from Manhattan School of Music and completed her training at Philadelphia's prestigious Academy of Vocal Arts and The Metropolitan Opera's Lindemman Young Artists Program. Amanda made her professional operatic debut with The Opera Theater of St. Louis in 2000 followed by performances at opera houses including the Santa Fe Opera, Portland Opera, Vienna Kammeroper, and New York City Opera.Amanda is equally at home on both the concert and recital stage. She has sang orchestral concerts and solo recitals all over the world including a 2005 benefit concert for Healthy Child Healthy World held in Los Angeles with Grammy award winning music producer David Foster and world renowned singing icon Olivia Newton-John. In addition, Amanda lends her voice to numerous charities and has been a guest speaker at Columbia University and Baltimore School of the Arts. Aside from her operatic career, Amanda is currently working on a one woman cabaret show, From Carmen to Cole Porter, and resides in New Canaan, CT with her fiancé.
She enjoys teaching voice, piano, and musical performance in her spare time and has served on the staff of The Fairfield County Drama Guild, Soyulla Artists, The Studio New Canaan, Arts for Healing, and The Little Green Tambourine as a resident piano teacher.
