For older children 5th grade through 8th Grade we recommend the musical theater Junior Company Program, and for High school students we reccomend Professional theatre training Apprentice Program, both offered by the Summer Theatre of New Canaan Brief summary below.
Apprentice Program with the Summer Theatre of New Canaan
Professional Training / Pre College Program for High School Students:
June 27-July 24 (with two week optonal extention if cast or working on Carousel)
The Summer Theatre of New Canaan will sponsor a 4 week theatre intensive for high school students. This intensive will include training in acting styles, vocal training and dance/movement. Participants will also take production workshops. This intensive will culminate in a performance created by the participants with the guidance of the professional faculty. Morning classes starting at 10:00, afternoon rehearsals and workshops, evening show responsibilities. Tuition also includes ticket and transportation to NYC to see a Broadway Show. Jr. Company Musical Camp (5th-9th Grades)
from the Summer Theatre of New Canaan
Disney's CAMP ROCK!
3 Week theatre program for 5th-8th grade.
Students will rehearse and then perform a fully produced musical on the Summer Theatre of New Canaan's Tent Theatre in Waveny Park. Production directed and produced by the professional staff with the Summer Theatre of New Canaan.
